Introduction - Roselle Schools Introduction - Roselle Schools

When faced with planning and implementing a system-wide emergency response strategy, many organizations address the problem by implementing several independent solutions. While this approach can be reasonably effective it can also result in disjointed communications and disparate systems deployment that can prove problematic from a complete emergency management perspective.

Individual point solutions to address specific areas of emergency communications and management can perform perfectly within their own area of responsibility, but can also unknowingly cause unnecessary confusion and ineffective or inefficient response when it matters most.

In the case of notification,
Roselle understands that there are situations and scenarios that must include notification of key individuals such as security personnel or on-site response teams, and they also understand that there are cases where the entire population of a given location or area must be informed. However, once these initial measures and systems are in place, Roselle realizes that a complete solution that goes beyond the basics is required in order to successfully manage an emergency situation.

The need for preparation is rather obvious. Therefore, the information contained in this portal is designed to provide you with valuable information concerning emergency resources and
Roselle's efforts to provide a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and the community at large.

The School Safety Management System (SSMS) allows entire user populations to collaborate in the retrieval, dissemination, and archiving of necessary and critical information. Data shown in the portal is used for the planning, teaching, training, and directing of the activities of students, faculty, and staff so that all concerned understand and adhere to basic school policies and procedures.

More especially, this portal allows Roselle to be prepared for, and react quickly and properly in the event of threats to security or safety. The school population will be required to register as users in the SSMS, in order to access information, and receive, as necessary, announcements, advisories, and emergency alerts, if they become necessary.
